Why riyaaz is the real curriculum

A course teaches you what a raag is. Riyaaz is what actually puts it in your voice or your hands. It happens alone, every day, long after the lesson ends.

  1. Swaranjani

What makes a raag a raag (and not just a scale)

Two raags can share every note and still sound completely different. The difference lives in the aroha, the avroh, and the pakad, not the notes themselves.
