The platform
Swaranjani teaches Indian Music. This page is about the software we are building to carry that teaching online, written plainly so you can judge it yourself.
The teaching and the software are two different things. The teaching is a music teacher and students. The platform is a website where lessons, practice, live classes and feedback are kept in one place. The platform supports the teacher and does not replace one.
It is an early product. It has not been launched widely, and we do not publish student numbers, because there is nothing honest to report yet.
Working today
These exist in the software now. Each is covered by automated tests.
The guru builds a course as a draft, adds lessons with a video, PDF notes and audio, and publishes it when it is ready. Students see only published courses.
A student can submit text, files, audio, video or a voice recording. The guru reviews it, writes feedback, gives a mark and can ask for a resubmission.
The guru schedules classes with a Google Meet link and a time zone. Each student sees the class time in their own time zone next to the guru’s, gets reminders, can add the class to a calendar, and finds the recording afterwards. Attendance records who pressed Join.
Each course is bought on its own through Razorpay. The guru can create discount codes, including a code that makes a course free.
Anyone can read a course page and open its free preview lessons. Free courses unlock when the student enrols. Paid courses unlock after purchase.
A dashboard for courses, students, submissions, live classes, coupons and payments. The guru account is created by the owner, never by public sign-up.
Being tested
The code exists. We have not yet confirmed it with real use, and we say so.
The payment code is written and covered by automated tests. It has not yet been run end to end with Razorpay test payments, so it is being checked before it is relied on.
Verification, password reset and class reminder emails are built. Delivery to real inboxes is still being confirmed.
Time zone handling, reminders and attendance were rebuilt recently. They pass automated tests and are waiting for a trial with real classes.
Terms, privacy and refund pages describe what the platform does today. They have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
Planned
Ideas we intend to pursue. None of these should be counted as available.
The website works on a phone. There is no separate app yet.
